Overview The Wilt Chamberlain Memorial Fund Scholarship supports graduating high school seniors who have demonstrated financial need and plan to continue their education in the fall at a four-year college or university, a two-year community college, or an accredited vocational school. Award Details - Up to $5,000 per year for students attending an accredited four-year undergraduate institution. - Up to $2,500 per year for students attending an accredited community college or vocational school. - Scholars may study any major or field. - Recipients receive mentoring during and after their transition from high school to postsecondary education. - Funds may be applied toward educational costs including tuition, living expenses, books, and required fees. - Award amounts are determined individually and depend on tuition costs and other aid the student receives. Who Should Apply (Minimum Eligibility) Applicants must meet all of the following: - Plan to graduate from high school at the end of the 2025–26 academic year. - Intend to enroll in an accredited postsecondary institution beginning in fall 2026. - Hold a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher. - Demonstrate substantial unmet financial need. - Have a family income of $50,000 or less. - Live in the Greater Philadelphia Area, defined as one of the following counties: - Philadelphia County, PA - Bucks County, PA - Delaware County, PA - Montgomery County, PA - Chester County, PA - Burlington County, NJ - Camden County, NJ - Gloucester County, NJ Selection Criteria Selection is competitive. Candidates are evaluated on academic record and financial need, and on qualities reflecting Wilt Chamberlain’s legacy—dedication to hard work, the pursuit of excellence, and a commitment to volunteerism and serving others.
