Romeo E. Short Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Arkansas Farm Bureau
Overview
Founded in 1955, the Romeo E. Short Scholarship Foundation supports agricultural scholarships administered through the Dale Bumpers College of Agriculture, Food and Life Sciences at the University of Arkansas. To be considered, applicants must submit the online Bumpers College Scholarship application by February 15 of each academic year.
Purpose and funding
These scholarships benefit students preparing for careers that advance viable food and agricultural systems, sustainable environments, healthy families, and thriving communities. The awards are made possible by the generosity of numerous companies and individuals. Each year, Bumpers College distributes more than $1 million in student scholarships.
Eligibility, selection factors, and renewal
Selection is based on factors such as academic achievement, financial need, personal interests, and involvement in organizations, among others. Most awards are granted for a single year, so both current and prospective undergraduate students in Bumpers College are encouraged to apply annually.
FAFSA requirement
All applicants who are U.S. citizens are asked to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as early as possible each year.
